the tortures they go through to “learn” all those “tricks” is absolutely terrifying and inhumane. Please do boycott circuses that use animals! :(
i have family friends that own a zoo and do circus perfomances and they are the biggest animal rights activists ever. the animals they have are either rescued or bred within the zoo, and they are all treated with tender love and care. we teach dogs to do things without harming them, so why is it hard to believe that there are zoos that teach their animals without harming them?
obviously and unfortunately it’s not always the case, but the elephants at this zoo are the sweetest and happiest elephants ever. I played catch with one of their elephants once, Limba, you could see her eyes light up with joy. She loved what she did and she loved people.
so please do boycott ONLY circuses that actually KNOWINGLY HARM their animals
You steal a baby or rescue a baby and takes it out of it’s natural habitat to make it perform for people day in and day out - but it’s treated nicely so it’s fiiiineeeeeee.
Circuses usually have around 100 travel days a year, that means the circus animals are kept in dark spaces while traveling and won’t have much room to move.
Saying “not all circuses” is exactly the same as the “not all men”.
Animals are not here for our entertainment, if you want entertainment, look at amazing humans.
